Alex Hollings has been elected to the board of the Military Reporters and Editors Association.

Alex Hollings is a writer, dad, and Marine veteran who specializes in defense technology research and analysis. He serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the apolitical military media outlet Sandboxx News and writes for other outlets on a freelance basis. As of April of 2021, Hollings also serves on the board of the Military Reporters and Editors Association. 

 

Hollings served in the U.S. Marine Corps from April of 2006 until November of 2012, when he was medically retired for non-combat-related injuries as a Sergeant. While on active duty, Hollings earned an associate's degree in Business Management from Penn Foster College, and he enrolled in Framingham State University immediately after his separation.

 

Hollings went on to graduate summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Corporate and Organizational Communications in 2015. He completed his master's degree in Communications with Southern New Hampshire University in 2017.
